How we treat
A detailed assessment of the vestibular system is of primary importance to discern the cause of the problem. This will include a battery of tests at times including wearing goggles that put you in the dark as we video your eyes during testing. Once the cause has been established the correct course of treatment can be prescribed.
If the problem is BPPV then the treatment is usually simple and the results can be fast.
If the problems is something else then the treatment can take longer and will involve tailored progressive exercises. It typically involves specific head and eye movements and balance exercises. These exercises retrain the brain to recognise and process signals from the vestibular system, eyes and body correctly.
